The grey-white room emanates emptiness even when the soprano starts singing. But then, surprisingly, there is this loud crash of a body hitting the ground flat and then this animal-like scream. That’s T.R.A.S.H., without any doubt, the young dance company from Tilburg which, with its rough, unpolished productions, is its own very distinctive voice.
De Volkskrant

ToFileForChapter11 1

They seem to know neither “no” nor “stop”. T.R.A.S.H. – that’s the magic word for the new extreme style of dance from the Netherlands, which will be presented in Germany for the first time as part of the TANZ Bremen program. They push, hang, pull and rip. To File for Chapter 11 refers to American bankruptcy law. Who or what is actually bankrupt remains open to the interpretation of the audience. Choreographer Kristel van Issum shows a world completely out of joint. Violence seems to be a daily necessity or the law of the street triggered by an insatiable longing for the “self”, for a true, reconciled identity. Every gesture is nothing if not the desire for peace. However, rationality has no place in this world, the body, tormented by an uneasy mind, marks the final boundary line.
