Double Program: Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion (England / Italy)

A dense composition of movements of the fingers, hands and arms. Elements, which precisely in their strict reductionism, contain a seemingly infinite variety of possibilities of execution and combination. Both Sitting Duet is a challenge towards dance, which here in its purest form is permanently caught up in the process of creation.

In this double program, British choreographer Jonathan Burrows and Italian composer Matteo Fargion present two intelligent and humorous reflections on music and dance, rhythm and movement. For this, Burrows and Fargion have developed a minimalist style, whose effortlessness and precision is breathtaking.

Jonathan Burrows was a soloist at the Royal Ballet London. In 1998, he formed his own company and also worked as a choreographer with the William Forsythe Ballet in Frankfurt/Main. Burrows gives workshops at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels and teaches at the Theatre Institute of the University of London.

Matteo Fargion studied composition at the University Natal/South Africa and in London. He teaches composition at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels and has composed the music for numerous theater plays. Burrows and Fargion have been working together for over 15 years.
